‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.’
In past weeks, we’ve been taking a closer look at the love of God, I mean a kind of love that gave up all for humanity.
It has always been God’s desire to have all men contained in his eternal plan, which is to have all men saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, hence man had always meant much to him.
However, not just a man but one that is ruled by HIM, one that is in Christ.
Look at the sequence;
You meant so much to him, hence he gave up all to earn your freedom, and all you have to do is to accept the bought freedom, and you are made free indeed.
You see, the absence of life is death, hence, the man without LIFE is dead.
And you were dead in the trespasses and sins Eph2:1
He really has nothing to offer, as said last week, irrespective of the different status in man, he has a common factor, which is neither in conduct nor appearances but SIN!
And that sacrifice bought liberation……but have everlasting life!
Everlasting life wouldn’t mean you live up to a thousand years even though actually man is an eternal being.
However, everlasting life would refer to the fact that, that man would not perish but is now at peace with God.
That man is now one who is ALIVE!
You see, life is better expressed than the air we breathe, even though that is very important, LIFE is best expressed by the gift of God expressed in our hearts.
‘… The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us’ –ROM 5:5
The man in Christ is now one who has the life of God and expresses the nature of God.
He is one considered as SON!
Everlasting life would mean his identification with God,He now has many much to offer!
He is one who is now in union with the Father.
Hence, the MAN that believes is not condemned but he is saved and has eternal life and has it much more abundantly.
No wonder, his seal on us is eternal!
In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, Eph1:13
We have a seal in Christ!
I believe in God’s perfect work for humanity, I have life abundantly. I am a SON of God and I have so much to offer to humanity. I mean so much to HIM!
