Nollywood is rapidly becoming a major world contender – Mawuli Gavor

OYA had a brief interview with Ghanaian actor, model and TV presenter, Mawuli Gavor. The Finance Management graduate shares details about his growing career, his love for Nollywood and more.

How’s your 2017 going?

Pretty great so far, I can’t really complain; traveling around mostly.

You studied Finance Management, where did the flare for acting come from? 

Haha. Have no clue. Life is interesting like that. I did a campaign for Martini, got a couple offers and after that, the rest is history

You are one very handsome man; tell us how you deal with female fans that are all over you?

Haha! Deep questions. You’re probably overestimating the amount of attention I get. Same as everyone else I’d imagine.

What is it that inspires you as an actor?

Human nature: Good and bad.

What do you look out for in a woman?

Don’t really look out for things in particular. Be yourself if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be.

What’s the future for you in filmmaking?

One day at a time. Jah guide always

If you could choose any past Hollywood movie to be featured in, which one would you choose and why?

The Matrix: probably one of the most re-watched movies of all time.

What do you think about the Nigerian film industry? 

It is rapidly becoming a major world contender.
